keynote 6.2 can’t open file

Hi,

I have a Keynote presentation in my Dropbox but I cannot open it anymore using Keynote 6.2. It just says "filename.key can’t be opened." It was working fine before and there is no modification history in the Dropbox so I assume the file is not corrupt. What is wrong ?

cheers

I am in the same situation.

It seems that Apple has updated Keynote (version 6) and it does not support opening presentations created in older versions. This is true on the iPad and appears to be the case on the desktop. I can not open a single presentation that I had done in version 5. The version 6 of Keynote has been fraught with mistakes and I have since quit using it for presentations on the iPad.

Since there are other issues with the loss of tools and a decent GUI in Keynote, Apple really messed this application up to the point where I will not rely upon this again.

As much as I detest Prezi's pricing and policies, they may be the best way to go at this point since there is no problem with opening older presentations therein.

I would like to amend this with an update:

Apple contacted me to ask about this issue and so, to further test this problem, I had already deleted Keynote from the iPad and all presentations, so I reinstalled Keynote after a shutdown and restart. I then reimported the Keynote 5.1 presentations into the iPad Keynote (latest build) and it worked!

The only problem was a minor font substitution issue and convergence transitions were changed to "dissolve".

This works if you delete and reinstall everything. I can re-import .key files from dropbox and Fileapp as well.
