how to remove Y! conversations mail box? I do not use Yahoo messenger!

Like the OP said: Y! Conversations just appeared, unrequested, out of the ether within the last couple of days. There is absolutely no chance that I had missed it previously. I have never, ever once used Yahoo Messenger. Prior to this, I didn't even know it existed. I certainly did not sign up for it. Since there doesn't seem to be a way to remove it from my folders in Mac Mail, I consider it intrusive. If somebody figures out how to delete this, please post the solution. Until then, telling a user that they had not noticed it isn't remotely helpful.

Does it really affect anything if its there? I have it too, but It really does not bother me. Its empty.

Using the Edit button, and then tapping on the Y! conversations Mailbox brings up a screen with a Delete Mailbox option, however, It will not delete the Mailbox.

But for what its worth, its coming form the Yahoo server. So its something that Yahoo needs to Address. Since its their Mailbox configuration.

The Mail App is just syncing the Mailboxes from Yahoo's servers.

This is the iPad forum. No Mouse, no clicking, and by extension no right clicking anywhere to remove it.

Yes it can be removed from Yahoo's Mail website when using a computer, but not from the iPad's Mail App or even in Safari, or Yahoo's own mail App.

Also, this is a 6 month old thread, so between then and now, I'm sure Yahoo added that ability to remove it.

True, but when Googling for "how to remove Y! conversations" from the mail box this thread comes up fairly close to the top. Hence it might be rather helpful to post a reply that actually achieves the desired objective for those of us who wish to remove it, even if not from an apple device?

Me too, I have an Iphone 4 and 2 Yahoo accounts configured and do not know how to delete the mailbox Y!.

It doesn't come out of the blue, when you add the yahoo email account to your phone it comes with it.

well that y!conversation was there for me when I first added the yahoo account.

Maybe you never notice because you were always checking the inboxes instead of accounts.

Since it occurring on the Yahoo mail servers, perhaps this is an issue for Yahoo to address.

I have a BT mail account and first noticed the Y! Conversations mail box immediately after BT moved my e mail account from Yahoo to their own infrastructure

The Y! Conversations folder can be removed by right-clicking on that folder, selecting "Subscribe," unselecting subscribe for "Y! Conversations" and then clicking "OK."

Fair enough. Though for clarity sake I would specify that it can only be done from the Yahoo Website.

Mac Mail > Right Click {foldername} > Get Account Info > Manage your "Subscriptions" (be they your choice OR NOT!!!! [yahoo, pfft]) and unsubscribe at will. Hope that works!
