It is not clear whether or not you are using the Apple Magic Trackpad, but if you are, I would suggest that you use the steps in the following article to help troubleshoot -
Troubleshooting wireless mouse and keyboard issues

While the article’s title says it is for keyboard and mouse issues, the same steps apply to the Apple Magic Trackpad.
