Q: cannot turn on background app refresh

Hi all,

I need to turn on background app refresh, however I cannot.

I had turn it all off for sometime, but I keep on missing out whatsapp messages, that is hurting my work.

I want to turn it back on to activate whatsapp.

To my surprise, I found that I cannot turn it back on. It simply refuses to turn on no matter how many times I pressed it.

Any advice?

Hi gemshin,

If you are having issues with your iPhone being unable to turn on background app refresh, you should take a look at this article -

iOS: Understanding multitasking

In particular see this section -

If an app doesn't respond to your input, or doesn't perform as expected, do the following, testing after each step:
Check for app updates.
Force the app to close.
Restart your device.
Update your iOS device.
