I import photos from my iphone 5 to my macbook pro using image capture. The option to delete after import is grayed out. How do I get it to delete them? Thx!

At the bottom of the Image Capture window, there is a delete button that can be clicked once the desired images have been highlighted.
At the bottom of the devices and shared list, you can choose to delete photos from your camera after importing them and you can choose which application opens when you reconnect your camera or card to your computer.

Funny, there's a no-smoking type red circle with a line through it at the bottom - that's the delete button. Took me forever to figure that out. What kind of icon is that?!?!
Hi, the above doesn't answer the question. If the little red delete icon AND the menu item are grayed out, want is the resolution to the problem? I have the iphone connected and I have ensured that the passcode on the iphone is entered. Is there something else we need to unlock. And yes, I have selected the photos I want to delete.
