Safari app missing from ipad mini

Hi - for no reason at all, as far as I can see, several apps have disappeared from my iPad mini - including Safari.

I've read all the support responses to 'missing safari icon' - and I can confirm that I have carried out the following steps.

1- Checked settings-general-restrictions - restrictions are off. I've enabled and disabled them. The safari option cannot be changed.

2 - Reset home screen. Still no app

3 - Hard reset - no change

4 - Factory reset - nope

5 - restore from back up. Nope

So, any ideas?

And yes, I'm aware that Safari cannot be deleted. And yet here we are.

iPad, iOS 7.1.2

Have you tried searching for it?

If you drag down from the top edge, you'll be presented with the Spotlight search screen...

Did you ask Siri to open Safari or the other missing apps ? Might as well try everything.

So it's September now - have you found a solution? I'm having the exact same experience and can't find a solution. Without access to the internet this thing is just a paperweight

With the latest update, there is a new feature in the settings, to remove certain apps, this is a safety feature for children, so they can't access apps.

If you check in your settings under restrictions, there you should see that safari has been turned off, which will be why it is hiding it from your hope page.

or it could be that you have done the iOS8.0.1 update. Which is full of bugs, there is now an iOS8.0.2 update.

Thank you so much for your advice... I went to settings- restrictions; my Safari was turned off. I have one more question; Do you have any suggestion on how I can turn on my apps? They have also disappeared.

What other restrictions do you have set e.g. do you currently have Settings > General > Restrictions > Apps (under the 'allowed content' heading set to ''Don't Allow Apps' ?

Check your restrctions in settings then go to general because you might accidentally turned it off

Thank you for your prompt reply. I went to settings... and switched apps back on, now all is well. I hope it'll remain this way.

You see, I'm just getting to know my iPad mini.
