why does my discs not read
my iMac spits out my discs and will not play them

The issue can be anything from the computer needing a simple SMC or PRAM reset ( iMac SMC and PRAM reset ) to using media that is not compatible to having a dirty or damaged SuperDrive. A more thorough explanation of the problem may help determine the correct course to take.
