Remove Steam icons from Launchpad

Hi,

I've tried everything.

I've gone into command line and killed the dock, deleted the dock/launchpad files and reloaded it, they still appear.

I've deleted the apps off my mac.

I can't find a way of getting rid of these and i'm not sure what else to do.

If someone could help it'd be much apprectiated.

Many thanks,

I just removed it but can't recall all of the detail. In general:

  1. I searched for the name using Spotlight search.
  2. I was then able to locate the related applications. The one I was trying to remove was Sid Meijers Civilization V.
  3. I dragged them to trash, then emptied trash.
  4. The icon on the launchpad then had a question mark on top of it. I then dragged it to trash and it worked.

Similar problem with Steam, which is a way for state actors to remotely control your box.

Go to applications and drag steam into trash

Steam icon is still on menu bar. Notice the small dot under the icon. That means the process is still running. Bring up stream and select switch user.

At that point you are offered to log out. Doing so closes the application.

Now you can move the icon to the trash.

One last thing. Bring up Finder and search this mac to find the steam.dmg file. Drag it to the trash and empty the trash.

Fini.
