Q: External monitor glitches on certain websites
I'm running 10.9.4 on a mid 2010 15" pro, with an LG monitor attached with minidisplayport to VGA. It's all working fine and dandy but THEN sometimes I go onto a webpage (for example, Pirate Bay) and the monitor shows a strange graphical glitch and switches off. If I CMD + W and close that tab, the monitor comes back. Now, I know the CIA isn't shutting down the screen so I was just wondering if any bright spark here could explain why it happens? I'm so curious!
I think it's to do with certain ads on websites. Sometimes it happens only when I scroll down a website (maybe I'm revealing an ad or a plugin that it doesn't like?). It happens nearly every time I go on Pirate Bay though. Anyone got any ideas?
Other info: I've only had this monitor a short while, so I don't know if the issue existed on 10.8 or not.
