My mac won't let me turn off my automatic login

I don't need the security anymore and my account is the only one and the admin account, if that makes sense. I have been trying to remove the login by going to users and groups and clicking login options as well as security and privacy but there is not even an option to turn it off. I am upgraded to the latest OS and I would love it if anyone could help.

Is FileVault activated? If so you can't change te setting for automatic login, until you deactivate it.

If you are using Yosemite, ensure you aren't using an iCloud password. Go to system preferences > users & groups > change password and if should come up with a list of options, tick 'use separate password' then change your password. Once you have done this you can turn the automatic login on or off. -Mel

If you are on Yosemite filevault is an option to turn on during setup.

Automatic login being off is correct.

However in the security and privacy pane there should be an option to disable automatic login that seems to be missing.

I would look into that if I were you. Not saying theres a problem maybe it wont be there if auto login is turned off altogether, or if filevault is on. but definitely something i would check out.
