The Bluetooth setup assistant should "find" a device in range when that device is turned on. What are you trying to add?

I'm trying to connect a wireless headset. It used to be connected at one time, but since the latest update there is no longer a "+" button. When I put it in discoverable mode, the mac doesn't see it. I have other bluetooth speakers and keyboards, but the mac does not see them. Is there a way to add new devices that i am not seeing?
Try resetting the PRAM and SMC (might help, cannot hurt).
