For some reason about a week ago, my Mac stopped ringing for FaceTime. FaceTime will ring on every other apple device in the house, but not my Mac. I've tried every setting change that seems logical, and nothing works. I see from the forums that lots of other people have this same problem. Can someone help? Thanks.

Are the missed calls going to a phone number or to an email address?
I have this same problem too. iMac and MacBook Air are NOW not ringing when someone is FaceTiming me, yet my iPad and iPhone do ring. Everything was fine before.
I have the same problem. I have an iPad Air and and iPhone 5S ... both ring when someone is FaceTiming me ... and I have to run past my computer to grab one of them because I know I will have to pull up FaceTime on my computer. It's not recognizing incoming calls.
I had been having the exact same problem for a while now. I eventually fixed it by going to System Settings > Sounds, and in the tab Sound effects checking the first box, which says 'Turn on sound effects from user interface' (roughly translated from my non-English Mac). I happened to have this unchecked, maybe you do too.
It isn't that I can't hear it. It just won't register that a FT call is coming in.
However, one thing I did do and NOW everything seems to be ok, is a) log off iMessage and FaceTime from all your OS X and iOS devices, and then b) re-log in to them. It resets something on the server end.
(A friend who had iMessage/Messages syncing issues was told to do this and it helped him.)
This seems to have solved my issue.
I and many friends have issues with facetime behaving inconsistently across multiple apple devices. We have tried all the solutions proposed here to no avail. Errors and issues with Apple software is the norm rather than the exception now.
I had this question for the past 9 months. I have a MacBook Pro and an iMac, calls would forward to my MacBook Pro's FaceTime but not to my iMac, after spending frustrating months not being able to find an answer, I finally went to System Preferences, Notification and checked all the boxes for FaceTime along with banner and lo and behold I called my cell phone from my house phone and it forwarded to both Macs, so just go to System Preferences and have Notifications turned on for you FaceTime...
