Jul 23, 2014 8:13 AM in response to David Allardiceby blueOrbit,★HelpfulI would verify that they've been uploaded from your iMac first. From this article iTunes Store: Troubleshooting iTunes Match, you can check this on your iMac following these instructions: Check to see the iCloud status of your songs. Choose View > View Options and enable "iCloud Status". iCloud status will help you to determine whether or not a song was purchased from the iTunes Store, matched, uploaded, or ineligible for upload. The statuses are pretty self-explanatory.

Jul 23, 2014 9:48 AM in response to David Allardiceby blueOrbit,But not on the MBP? Have you run through Authorize This Computer on the MBP? Do you have the Match tab available from the Music view on the MBP (just right of the Playlists tab)?

Jul 24, 2014 3:53 AM in response to David Allardiceby David Allardice,Match is visible on the MBP. I have gone through the discussion thread you linked, thanks.
After I cleared the Match cache on the MBP, thought that was doing the trick, as it took a long time (several hours) to complete the update of Match, but after it completed I was still only shown the music that resides on the MBP and nothing from the cloud.
On the MBP, all the songs are showing as 'Waiting' in iTunes Match status - this includes songs which I had previously transferred to the MBP through Home Sharing prior to signing up with Match.
So it seems to me that for some reason the MBP is just not connecting with the cloud...
Thanks for your help so far.

Jul 24, 2014 2:34 PM in response to David Allardiceby blueOrbit,I'm out of ideas. The best I can think of would be to try a new iTunes library on the MBP. Info on how can be found here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
