how do i insert a date in iCloud Pages

is there any way to insert the current date in iCloud Pages ?

The drop-down menus you have are much richer than the ones I get - e.g. I don't get "date and time" , "footnote citation" etc but just page no. & page count.


Can't seem to get the formatting options you show in the middle screen shot (e.g. Jul 23, 2014 as the date format). I have tried several of the Pages canned documents (all newsletters however) and editing dates gives me the text formatting panel on the right hand side, but no drop down.


Could your examples be from the desktop app - i am asking about the Pages available thru ICloud


I'm using (what I think is) the latest Safari, OSX and a reasonably current (a year or two old) MacBook Air

Which version of Pages are you running? My first post was with the latest version. I get the same with Pages 09 and 08. I just selected the date and clicked on it a secpmd to,e to get this option:

User uploaded file

Then you can set the date format and have the date update to the current date when you open the document:

User uploaded file
