Q: Updated to 7.1.2 on ipad2 - email issues, battery won't charge, itunes wont open...

After I updated to ios 7.1.2 on my ipad2, not only will my battery not charge, but I can no longer open email from any server, tap any type of attachments (such as the Apple link to verify my ipad to troubleshoot), connect to itunes, x out of programs - the list goes on and on.  The keyboard will randomly pop up on emails, and it "multilayers" while in my internet providers email.  (Comcast)  I am at 19% on my battery, so tomorrow, I will be without an ipad as this is clearly a bug of the operating system after researching it and finding that there are a lot of people with this issue!  I am so glad I did not update my special needs sons ipad as he uses his everyday and this would be devastating to him.  Is there a fix for this?

I  am having the same issue! i upgraded to 7.1.2 last night and it hung in the middle of the update.  I left it until the morning when the battery was at around 40% but prior to the update was in the 80%.  By the time I got to work it was 25%.  I rebooted then checked if the software update was at 7.1.2 and it was so assumed the update was succesful.  Got home, plugged it in and it would not charge.  Now at 4%.  I wont be able to access my calendar soon!!!  i am so annoyed!!!

I am having the same issue! As soon as I "updated" to my ipad2, it went black! I'm hoping I didn't lose all of my audio lectures from class!! This *****! I have a final tomorrow and needed to review the lecture! I cannot even access any of my apps! Its just stuck on the screen that asks to plug into iTunes!

Reminder to everyone - You should always backup your iDevice prior to an iOS update.

    I have the same issue!

Upgraded to iOS 7.1.2 now battery only trickle charges, ie. it's taken 4 days to reach 42%.

I have tried all the suggestions and work-a-rounds I could find, except the full restore, with no improvements to recharge rates or battery life.

I'm about to attempt the full restore.  If successful I shall use my recharged iPad to write of my success.  If unsuccessful I shall write of my failure using my Windows tablet.

I am appalled that Apple has not taken responsibility for this massive failure.

Apple, how are sales going for new batteries, chargers, cables, etc?
