Jul 24, 2014 4:58 AM in response to LouisaaJayneby OGELTHORPE,Are you saying that your storage is full? If so, try a Safe boot and if successful, transfer items to an external drive and delete them from the internal HDD. DO NOT FORGET TO EMPTY TRASH!

It would be helpful if you indicated the EXACT MBP that you have.
Ciao.

Jul 24, 2014 5:01 AM in response to OGELTHORPEby LouisaaJayne,Yeah my storage is full.
What is a safe boot and how do I do it?
I've moved a lot of files onto my hard drive. All I have on my macbook now is my software but that has never been an issue taking up much memory in the three years I've had it.

Jul 24, 2014 5:56 AM in response to LouisaaJayneby OGELTHORPE,If the Safe Boot fails to give you access yo your MBP, you will then have to try Target Disk Mode with another Mac:

Or take out the internal HDD, install it in an enclosure and connect it to another Mac.
Again, it would be helpful if you indicated the EXACT MBP that you have.

Jul 24, 2014 7:38 AM in response to OGELTHORPEby LouisaaJayne,Is Target Disk Mode just like backing files up?
I have a Macbook Pro 13inch Mid 2012

Jul 24, 2014 7:39 AM in response to LouisaaJayneby Csound1,Target Disk mode is not a backup, but by connecting in Target mode you may be able to make a backup.

Jul 24, 2014 7:49 AM in response to OGELTHORPEby LouisaaJayne,I think it may be my mailbox. Is there a way I can clear from my laptop but still be able to access my emails online?
-
Jul 24, 2014 8:11 AM in response to LouisaaJayneby OGELTHORPE,It may very well be your mailbox that is the problem, but you have to access the HDD in order to clear out data. That will have no affect on your ability to use your e-mail application with your MBP.
Try the three suggested options for accessing your MBP HDD.
Ciao.

Jul 24, 2014 11:52 AM in response to LouisaaJayneby OGELTHORPE,HDD = Hard Disk Drive. That is where all of your data is stored in your MBP.
Ciao.

Jul 24, 2014 12:02 PM in response to LouisaaJayneby Look@menow,I had the same model and it had one problem after another. I bought it in September last year and in less than a year, Apple already replaced, three logic boards, two hard drives, hard drive cable, hard drive bracket, graphics card, and graphics card. After the second hard drive failed in June, Apple finally decided to replace it and so I upgraded to a 13" retina.
