Jul 24, 2014 11:51 AM in response to seonaid1by Eric Root,Try deleting your iCloud password from Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities).
You can try running Keychain Access First Aid while you are there.

Jul 26, 2014 5:54 AM in response to Eric Rootby seonaid1,I'm sorry but a) I don't understand why 'Mavericks' is listed as my OSX version when I only have 10.9.4 and b) there is no Keychain Access menu item for Preferences ! so the suggested procs from yourself and Kappy run into a blank wall
Sorry.

10.9..4 is Mavericks.

Did you first open Keychain Access application in Applications/Utilities folder?
Then did you go to the Keychain Access menu item and select Preferences?

Jul 26, 2014 6:16 AM in response to Chris CAby seonaid1,OK, I have run the 'Repair keychain' and it has found no problems.
I'm beginning to wonder if I ever have setup a password for iCloud ??? How do I find whether this is so ?
Thank you

System prefs > iCloud.
Sign out then sign back in.

Jul 26, 2014 11:01 AM in response to Chris CAby seonaid1,OK, that (Sign out and Sign in) has been done now. The integrated items which are required after this have been checked but I dont feel confident in putting my Keychain up into iCloud.
Now that I am at this stage, can I ask if my original question has been answered by these actions ? Will I see the popup request for my iCloud password again ?

Jul 27, 2014 1:26 PM in response to Chris CAby seonaid1,Well considering that it (ask for password) has occurred immediately upon startup I guess it's just going to be ignored from now on.
Many thanks for your help over this. At least I have sorted out the actual password itself and the rest <cough> will have to remain inscrutable, like an increasing part of Apple's environment.

Jul 27, 2014 2:50 PM in response to seonaid1by Eric Root,Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
