I am trying to download a free app from the app store but it keeps asking me to fill up billing information. In the billing info it is asking for my credit card number. If the app is free then why do I need to give a credit card no? Will they bill me for a free app?

NO it wont. It just so happen that itunes is programmed to have some forms of payment information. As long as you are downloading a free item then you wont be billed

call apple support and request to be tranferred to itunes. They will guide you
