Q: my ipad is in recovery mode after updating software

last night now will not start up,

I tried holding down start/sleep button apple logo comes up for a second then disappears

I plugged it into laptop and its now in recovery mode, which I don't want

how do I get it out of recovery mode without losing everything

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.4

Hopefully you can restore from a backup from recovery mode > iOS: Unable to update or restore
