Getting a lot of iCloud spam

Over the past week I've noticed a lot of spam in my ".mac" inbox. There never used to be any at all but it's picked up quite a bit recently.

I don't have my email on a website for 'contact info' or anything so I don't know what's going on here.

Any idea why my spam/junk has picked up on my ".mac" email?

For the record it's only coming to my alias and not the main email for the account.

There's not a lot you can do. You should report it to Apple according to the instructions in this Apple document, iCloud: Why am I getting junk mail (spam)?.

OS X Mail

  1. Open the message and choose “Forward as Attachment” from the Message menu.
  2. Forward the message to iCloud spam@icloud.com.
  3. Forward the message again to abuse@domain, replacing domain with the part of the sender's email address after the @ symbol. For example, if the sender's email address is spammer@spammydomain.com, forward the message to abuse@spammydomain.com.
