Q: Can I use the AVB driver to send multi-channel audio between 2 Macs

I want to know if it is possible to use the Apple AVB driver in 10.9.4 to pass multiple channels of audio between 2 MacMini's.

Mini's are Mid 2011, should have AVB compatible Gigabit on board ethernet ports.  I am mixing on one Mini and Encoding and Decoding on the other so there is audio going both directions.

I know AVB drivers are included in 10.9 but I cannot find anything about using them.

Can I just connect them thru a Gig switch or do I have to have a specific type of switch?

Tried going thru Network Browser under Audio Midi Setup but was not able to see or create an AVB device.
