Q: Frozen unmovable and visible at all times folders-how to unfreeze?

Problem with MacBook Pro, 17 inch, early 2009, OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)

I have I moved a folder into another folder.  Now there are 3 of the folder.  None of them will drag, open, and move to trash not highlighted in menu.  There is the  one I moved, one on the desktop that is visible on top of any open app,  and one on the desktop that opens one file I moved to trash and never saved in the file.  Since this happened I can't find any of the documents I saved or screen shots  taken.  Please help, working on house plans!

Please let me know if this is the wrong community or port, I'm not sure where this issue belongs.
