Garage band project completely disappeared. The only thing I did recently that might have caused it was backing up my hard drive. Is this possible? I'm a bit leery of connecting the back up harddrive for fear that i might lose more! Suggestions?

What kind of backup application do you use?
I backed it up on a FILEMATE 3FME2500GW-R external hard drive
But how did you backup? Is your backup drive directly connected (USB, Thunderbolt) or a network attached storage? Did you use backup software that came with the drive, or Time Machine, or did you simply copy the project by drag-and-drop to the drive? Copying between drives should not delete a project from your system system drive, but if you hold down the options-key while dragging a project to a different disk, the project will be moved instead of copied and deleted from the original location.

THe same thing just happened to me! I'm dying over here. I didnt change backup or anything. ***?
