My macmini won't output to any display since reinstalling and upgrading to maverick

I recently wiped my macmini and when I reinstalled it, it upgraded to maverick.

Now it won't output to any display. When I first installed it, I managed to get it to work once after turning it on and off several times.

I've tried connecting to both a tv and a monitor, using both display port and hdmi connections.

ive done all these:

Reset the computer's parameter RAM.
Reset the computer's PMU.
If you have an Intel-based Mac mini, reset the SMC.

Still nothing...

does anyone have any suggestions?

Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)

When starting in Safe Mode?

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I tried both, thanks for the suggestions, but it still just says 'no video found' so I have no idea what the machine is doing.

What does Command-V (verbose) show for the GPU-related messages? What model Mac mini is this (Year/Model)? How is the monitor connected?

I can't see what anything says because it doesn't display anything on screen.

it's about 2-3 years old, I'm not sure exactly though until I can see the screen to check.

currently via hdmi but also tried dvi converted to display port and dvi converted to hdmi.

If the input connector on the mini is a DVI (and not a mini-DVI) then it looks like a 2007 Mac mini that has a 'full' DVI.

It's not, it has hdmi and displayport connections on the macmini. I've tried both but same issue.

It is then a Unibody with DP (could be Thunderbolt also) and HDMI. Do you have a second Mac?

If yes then you can look at this OS X Mavericks: Transfer files between two computers using target disk mode. This is one way to debug it.

Second option, if you have Screen Sharing or Remote Login enabled, before the display stopped working, is to use ssh or Finder -> Go -> Connect To Server.
