Q: using at&t 3g iPhone on another carrier

Hi All, I recently gave my niece my old Unlocked iPhone 3g. It was originally an at&t phone and was unlocked by Apple and out of contract. Is it possible to use it on another GSM carrier?

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1.1, Unlocked

If it is officially unlocked, yes it can be used on another GSM carrier.

You don't need an unlock code. If the device was unlocked by AT&T, the device is unlocked in the Apple database. It will not need any additional codes. It can be used on another GSM carrier, so long as it is not a US domestic GSM carrier.

The unlock code is not needed once unlocked...that removes the restriction on the iPhone.

See:iPhone: About unlocking the unlocking makes the iPhone usable on ANY GSM carrier, domestic or not.
