How to add more files to DVD -RW?

Yet again the mysterious workings of the Mac have defeated me. I burnt some files to a DVD -RW, intending to add some more later. Of course I thought it would be simple, & all I would need to do is to drag & drop the new files onto the DVD - but no, Of course it could not be that simple! Please can someone explain what complex process I need to go through to do such a simple thing as adding some files to a re-writable DVD..?

Thank you.

!!!! Thank you. This 'Mac world' gets more & more ridiculous.... So in order to add files to a re-writable DVD, I have to first wipe off all the existing content, add the new files & then put all the previous stuff back on?...! You couldn't make it up.... It's like it was designed by someone with some evil sense of humour, who just wants us all to waste as much time as possible doing the most simple tasks..... Someone should take Apple on a tour of Windows, so they can see how simple things can really be..!
