My game center game somehow ended up replaced with my husbands game

It sounds like you are seeing your husbands Apple ID info, rather than yours when you play games that use the Game Center. Game Center can be signed into a different Apple ID than you have signed into your iCloud in Settings > iCloud, so it seems to me like the wrong account may be signed into. You can check that here, and it will not compromise your iCloud data such as Contacts, Mail, etc.:

iOS: Go to Settings and tap Game Center > Apple ID > Sign Out.

I would next have your husband check his settings to see if somehow his Game Center is assigned to your account in the same place.

He would check this in his Settings, in the same place you verified you were signed into your account. if so, then have him sign out of the account and back into his.
