Mar 31, 2015 5:33 AM in response to txforeverby j@ne,OMG, thank you to everyone on here who posted solutions. I had 8 GB tied up in phantom unexplainable 'other' and 'photo' storage and have managed to free it all by restoring iPhone (cleared 7GB) and then setting the date back to delete those phantom photos (last GB). iPhone 5s BTW.

Mar 31, 2015 10:17 PM in response to txforeverby gearlandscape,Yep, my wife and I both had 12Gb and 14Gb of invisible photos on each of our iPhone 5s, txforever's solution of changing the date (Settings > General > Date & Time > turning off the 'Set Automatically' and manually rolling back to a year ago) - all the photos appeared in the Recently Deleted album, One click Delete all and BAM, free space! Thanks txforever for outsmarting Apple!!

Apr 3, 2015 7:57 AM in response to Dan1807by Scott Dan,Same problem here. I have deleted from the 'recently deleted' folder as well, restarted my phone, and same issue persists. iTunes says it has 8.62 gigs of photos (1146 photos), but my camera roll only has 167 photos with 1 short video and photo stream has 92 pics. On the phone under settings, it also reads 8.4 GB in the photo library and 74.8MB in the My Photo Stream. The Shared stream has 29.2 MB. So the computer and the phone match up, but I don't have that many photos in the library? Very confused???

Apr 3, 2015 8:15 AM in response to Scott Danby gearlandscape,Scott, did you manually change the date on your iPhone to a year or two ago, or more, and then check your recently deleted folder? The phantom photos should show up and you can then delete them all. This was txforever's solution, seems to be the most painless fix...

Apr 5, 2015 2:52 PM in response to gearlandscapeby jaydabbler,i had this same issue, nearly 2 GB's of pictures that didn't exist (every photo i had taken so far on this phone). changed the date, restarted the phone and voila - there was a recently deleted folder of pictures to delete (again).

Apr 14, 2015 10:45 PM in response to Dan1807by SeanWOW,FIXED IT! I don't care if someone already posted the solution, I feel too accomplished not to share. The ghost data was coming from photos on my messages. So I went through each message and deleted all (500+) ghost images/videos/other attachments, synced my phone, and SHAZAM freed up 5GB of space. Hope this helps!

May 4, 2015 6:19 AM in response to txforeverby Reeshes18,I have an iPhone 4 and do not have a recently deleted folder.

May 4, 2015 6:22 AM in response to Reeshes18by Lawrence Finch,I'm not sure what to do in your case. Try setting the date back, as described above, and see if the photos reappear in your camera roll. If they don't you will have to copy the remaining photos to your computer, then restore the phone and set it up as New.

May 4, 2015 6:26 AM in response to SkinCareWhizby Asnnair,Hi, pls go to your settings and find date and time. Then pls turn off autoupdate of time and then change your phone time and date back before the date you start using this same iPhone. Then go back to photos and there you can find recently deleted folder with lots of deleted photos. Then delete all from that folder and go back to your time and turn autoupdate On. Hope it works for Y
