😁 Ok thanks. Btw when the screen is scratch, is the scratch on the coating or on the glass?
The durability of the coating most likely depends a lot on how often the device is used, how dirty or greasy are the fingers touching the screen and maybe how often the screen is cleaned. I had an iPad 2 that I used for over two years. I noted that there were spots forming on the screen that corresponded to the most commonly tapped keys on the keyboard. I interpreted this as thinning or wearing off of the coating.
Is this simply out of curiosity that you ask or are you having problems or seeing signs of wear on the coating? If you are seeing wear and tear, what are the environmental conditions under which you use the iPad? Are you using clean hands when you use the iPad? Do any chemicals at all come in contact with the screen?
Just out of curiosity. I have never put any chemicals on the iPad. Also another question, does the oleophobic coating protects the iPad from scratches? From what I've heard from people is that the scratches are on the oleophobic coating and not the glass itself. Is this true?
Should last for the life of the product if you don't use any type of cleaning solution on it. Water moisture is OK.
You may want to add a screen protector.
Cheers, Tom 😉
I tried scratching the oleophobic film with a finger nail and it didn't bother it. If you take a nail to the screen you can scratch the glass.
The coating is scratch resistant - not scratch proof. Be careful with the screen. Don't do any unnecessary experimentation like Bob did. 😁
The Devil made me do it. 👿
