Does FireWire 800 support 1080i?

Hey Everyone!

I'm getting interested in upgrading my Windows 7 to a MacBook Pro (latest model with Disc Drive - not newest one) FINALLY!

The reason I'm switching is because I have a Canon XH A1...and I can't get the full quality from the camera onto my PC.

Furthermore, it's always massive Mission to get my footage from the camera to the computer with every project I do.

The Canon XH A1 has a DV/HDV output (I record on HDV tapes), so I'm planning to get fottage from the camera via FireWire 800.

BUT before I get too ahead of myself, I want to make sure that Firewire 800 DOES support 1080i / Full HD or, 'HDV' Video.

Any help would be great, and much appreciated!

iPod touch, iOS 6.1.6, Also have a Windows 7 PC
