Have new iMac with Mavericks OS 10.9.4. BUT have many old Appleworks files that won't run on it.
How do I convert the Appleworks docs to something that will work?

you will obtain best results by installing iWorks'09 which can open AppleWorks 6's word processing, spreadsheet and presentation documents ; you can also try the latest version of LibreOffice (free) which will probably open them.

Thanks! I downloaded Libre Office with excellent results. I haven't tried all my old formats yet but it opened my Appleworks 6 files without a hitch.
