Need to know how to add addresses to a "whitelist" in my me.com/icloud setup.

Need to know how to add addresses to a "whitelist" in my me.com/icloud setup. Having code in my Mailchimp email show up in my iphone. They said it was because the me.com filters were aggressive and I needed to ad my two addresses to a whitelist thru me.com.

I don't see any way to do this or any instructions. I easily did it through the webmail that I have for my other email address.

If anyone has encountered this before or knows how to add an address to a whitelist, that would be fantastic.

Thank you!

MacBook Pro (17-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7), and iphone 4

There isn't a white list per se for iCloud mail users to manually operate. When something arrives in Junk and you hit "mark as not junk" its supposed to add it to some kind of safe list you don't have control over. The problem is (and has been going on since I signed up with MobileMe) is that the server will keep marking the same sender (randomly) as junk. Its as if the "mark as not junk" isn't doing what its supposed to do. I've been fighting with Apple about this issue for a very long time and they aren't inclined to help. They seem to operate as they got the system "working" and that's all they need to do.

I realize this may be a little off from what you were talking about but it should give you an idea of what kind of brick wall you'll be running into when dealing with Apple.

That also is an issue. I've noticed that happening, but not too often. The reason I'm concerned about this Mailchimp issue is because most of my ad customers receiving their deadline email will view it on their phones. I actually had two issues come up. The little block of coding which is very confusing on your phone. Then also, same email asked me to click to download the rest of the email. It's a tiny email, one small graphic in it. I had to go on and send it. So, hoping for the best but would still like to get an answer from Apple, for everyone's sake.

I probably should have paid $19 for a phone call, but with all the ongoing $$ I spend with Apple, that just frustrates me. I probably shouldn't be so stubborn!

Can you tell if the Junk designation is added by Mail, or by the mail provider before it gets to Mail (if Mail did it the color will change usually to Brown, if the mail provider did it the color will not change)

For me, its the iCloud mail server. I turn off Mail's junk filter because I don't want to independent junk filters trying to tackle junk mail. So the only server that I cannot turn off is the server side filter and thus its the one I use. Whenever a message arrives in Junk, I have to log into the iCloud.com and mark it not junk from there and hope it will stay that way....for a while at least.

Well, I hope you can get your issue dealt with. I've pretty much given up on Apple to solve this since they are seemingly unwilling to really look into it.

Though I do want to ask you and whoever reads this, do you guys have an issue where messages that have been read and sitting in your inbox for a while and/or messages that just got read and then moved to a different folder or deleted, get randomly marked as unread again? It's been happening for God knows how long and its driving me crazy.

You must have Mail set to 'Trust Junk Headers':

In the picture below, if you have checked the lowest 2 options then you will have no control over junk mail IN MAIL.

If you want to let Mail handle it instead of the provider set the boxes as per the above. If you have not changed any of Mails default settings for Junk it will be re-colored Brown and moved to the Junk mailbox.

Thanks for the tip but, I like having a central point from which email is filtered. I don't always have Mail open on my Macs. I've gotten used to going into iCloud.com to mark as not junk. The server filter cannot be turned off. That's why I have Mail's filter turned off because I didn't want two independent filters trying to work on my messages. I just wish Apple would fine tune their email setup.

I'm also curious though. If I even followed your setup, would I still have to deal with Mail marking certain messages as junk and also the server marking messages as junk. As I stated before, the server will randomly mark messages as junk (often repeatedly even after I said it wasn't junk). I have to go into iCloud.com and mark it as not junk from there each time. I have the junk filtering in Mail turned off currently because I didn't want to have to deal with going into mail to mark as not junk as well as iCloud.com to mark as not junk.

Need to know how to add addresses to a "whitelist" in my me.com/icloud setup.
