Video Cards for a Powermac G4 Quicksilver (2002)

Hi. Will a Radeon® 9800 Pro Mac Edition 256MB AGP work with my G4 Quicksilver (2002) ? How about the ATI Radeon 9600 Mac Edition 256 ?
Thanks, David

Hi,
Well, I for one would be just a bit leery of the ATI 9600 Dual Mac/PC Version in a QS 2002 because of this warning from ATI's website.
The information in this article applies to the following configurations:
Radeon® 9600 PRO PC & MAC Edition
"Quicksilver" Power Mac G4 model
"Quicksilver 2002" Power Mac G4 model
"Digital Audio" Power Mac G4 model
The Radeon 9600 Mac & PC Edition is not compatible with the "Quicksilver", "Quicksilver 2002" or the "Digital Audio" PowerMac G4. If a Radeon 9600 Mac & PC Edition board is installed in one of these systems the result is a blank display.

That does not mean that ALL 9600 can have a problem but it is certainly possible. I'd stick to the ATI 9800 256MB, your QS should power it just fine.

Regards,
Dave
