How does one get Apple's Wiki server to behave like a real Wiki?

Ok... I'm new to Apple's Wiki (using a Mac Mini and OSX Serve) but not to Wiki Editing -- although my experience is primarily with MediaWikis.

I want to be able to create a page using Wiki links, Wiki formatting commands and the like, not using Apple's pre-defined page designs and formatting.

Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), OSX Server (10.9.4)

In my research the past few days, I have run across comments that indicate that Apple's WiKi software is written from the ground up by Apple, in Ruby on Rails.

What Apple is calling a WiKi is more like the "blog-spots" many other sites offer, it bears nothing in common with MediaWiki.

MediaWiki itself can be easily installed using MacPorts. At the moment, I do not know how well it integrates with OSX Server, but that is next on the list.
