I mean that after you complete this: https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha, on your iPad perform the 7 steps I posted earlier (to delete, then add back the Gmail account on it).  Then open the Mail app on your iPad and test your Gmail account and see if you get any error messages.

So just to be sure this is the order I do it in right?

    To Get email back -

complete this: https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha, on your iPad perform the 7 steps I posted earlier (to delete, then add back the Gmail account on it).  Then open the Mail app on your iPad and test your Gmail account and see if you get any error messages.

If you are only having problems accessing the Gmail account on your iPad and it works on your iPhone and Mac, you don't need to do anything on your iPhone or Mac.  Deleting the account from your iPad will not effect your other devices/computers.  Also, you won't lose any email.  Your email will still be stored on Google's Gmail servers.  When you delete the account from your iPad it will temporarily delete the email from your iPad, but when you add the account back it will download back to your iPad from Google.

    The specific steps would be:

    1. Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars
    2. Tap your Gmail account in the Accounts list
    3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
    4. Go back to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and tap Add Account (in the Accounts section)
    5. Tap Google
    6. In the window that opens, fill the name, address, password and description
    7. Tap Next, and turn on the things you want to sync with your Gmail account.  If you only use email, just turn Mail On and save the account.

    Hi Again,

I tried that tonight and for some reason that did not work and I did everything you said. So I think it must be something with the iPad and do you think I should then erase everything on the iPad and start over cause i don't have anything else on there to save! Can you think of anything that might work?

    Thanks

Do you know if you have two-step verification set up on your Gmail account?

I'm talking about the settings for your Gmail account at Google, not on your phone.  If you aren't sure, click this link on your computer: https://www.google.com/settings/security, sign into your account if you are prompted, then see where the red box is in the image below if it says that 2-step verification is enabled.  If it looks like the image below it isn't enabled.

Ok thanks I'll work on that tomorrow. Also I tried to rest my password and I got a text with a code from Google with a code to reset my password so I think with that then that means I do have it enabled then right wouldn't you think? If I do then I want to disable it then right?

Yes, if you have 2-step verification enabled, try turning it off to see if that makes any difference.  I don't use 2-step verification with my Gmail account so I'm not sure if getting a text code means you have it enabled, but it may mean that.
