how do I paste a screen snap on a MAC

I was able to take the screen snap but can't seem to get it pasted.

Where are you trying to paste it?

Which screenshot option are you using:

1 - save picture of screen as a file.

2 - copy picture of screen to the clipboard.

3 - save picture of selected area as a file.

4 - copy picture of selected area to the clipboard

Assuming you're on a Mac, I would recommend using Preview for your screenshot. Launch the Preview app, go to File > Take Screen Shot > and then choose what kind of screenshot you'd like. After you've taken it, go to Edit > Copy. Edit > Paste should work in most applications. Can you tell me what app you're using?
