I have got very little memory left on my iPad, and there is lots tied up with Keynote presentations. I don't want to delete them permanently, but I do want them removed from my iPad - can anyone suggest how I can do this please?

In Keynote, tap Presentations top left

    tap Edit top right

tap the file to be deleted

    tap the trash

    tap Delete Presentation.

Do not rely on iCoud for storing files, it is a distribution system, not a long term store.

This is the Mac discussion, for future questions about the iPad, use the Keynote iOS discussion.

Thanks Gary - the trouble is that then deletes it from the cloud and so it disappears from my Mac too - the work around presumably is in Keynote on my mac to move all of my presentations onto the mac and then delete them all from the cloud?

Yes, always ensure you have a local back up. No reason why you can't replace the files to iCloud but don't rely on it.
