the people at my apple store had to replace my hard drive on my macbook air because it crashed. i just recently noticed that i don't have iMovie or iPhoto. I was doing research on this and it said to go to my purchases in the app store and download it again but nothing shows up? please help because i don't have 30$ to spend to replace them

Is the App store signe into the same account used to originally purchase the apps or, if they came with the new Mac, signed into the account initially used on the Mac?
i started signed into my step dads account but i don't know his password
Apps are locked to the account that purchased them. Either get the password or purhases with your account.
