Can I play podcasts on my first gen nano?

Question

Can I play podcasts on my first gen nano?

I was just wondering if I can play podcasts on my first gen nano. I have a podcasts section on my nano but it is empty. I have a podcast in my itunes library but I cannot get it onto my ipod, itunes will not let me drag it onto my nano. Thanks for the help.

Are you using automatic or manual syncing?

Does the podcast show in the podcast section of iTunes, or only in the music library?

I was using manual then I switched it to automatic and still nothing went to the ipod. Yes the podcast is under the podcast section of my itunes. I only added it to the library because I thought it might be able to be sent to the ipod from there.

Well, what are the podcast sync settings? In iTunes 6 and earlier, go to Edit\Preferences\iPod\Podcasts, in iTunes 7 go to iPod>Podcasts.

Ya you can play podcasts. I have a first gen nano on iTunes 7 on windows xp. The only problem is, some of my podcasts went to the songs section instead of the podcasts section, so I'm trying to figure out what happened there.... That might be your problem. Otherwise if you haven't downloaded your podcast to your iPod, you might need to click subscribe or get next to it. Check your Podcasts section in iTunes.

If you expand the podcast, are the episodes checked?

I have a similar problem: on my nano, my podcasts appear in the "songs" section but the "podcasts" section is empty. In iTunes they appear in the right place.

Does anyone know how I can get them to appear in the podcast menu?
