How can I access my Hotmail folders, not just emails, in Mail?

It sounds like you have your Hotmail setup as POP in Mail. You will need to add a new account as IMAP. Note, when you delete the POP account in Mail it will also delete the messages in the Inbox. You need to archive or move the Inbox messages to a folder before deleting the account.

The iPhone is connecting through ActiveSync (which is exclusively for mobile devices).

Since you are using YourName@hotmail.com, you might need to log into your account in Safari and add aliases for your email as YourName@outlook.com before creating the IMAP account.

Many thanks for replying to my question. It's a bit more complex than what I usually tackle but I will give this a go. I have the same emails with folders in Hotmail and without folders in Mail. I didn't set Mail up to delete the emails in my Hotmail account, so will this process you describe delete the emails in my Inbox in Mail only or in my Inbox in Hotmail or in both? IE do I still need to save my Hotmail Inbox messages as you suggest? ? As they display differently I was presuming they were separate! Thanks Sally
