Q: how do i know if i can upgrade from 10.6.8 to mavericks

About This Mac tells me I have 2 GB of memory, but how do I know if I have the 8 GB required for Mavericks? If it's the "L2 Cache," that says 6 GB. Then what?

Choose Computer from the Finder’s Go menu, select the internal drive, and choose Get Info from the File menu.
