Hello Danny,

I had the same problem and this fixed it for me, and I am almost certain it will for you:

Go to the preferences folder in your user library (if the library folder is hidden, while being in your user folder hit User uploaded file+J, then choose 'show library folder').

- user/library/preferences/

- Delete the file: com.apple.SystemProfiler.plist

- Reboot your mac

- Go to about this mac again and voila! it will be shown the right way. (it took a few seconds to build up for me, so you might have to close and reopen the window once).

Let me know if it worked!

Regards, Mark

I am not sure just what is going on in that picture you linked in your original post...where the number is, More Info should be displaying MacBook Pro Retina and under that 13-inch, Mid 2014. There have been several users questioning the messages being displayed which for some reason are in Estonian...MBPr from the US and the UK.

Try going back to the Apple store, if that is where you bought the MBPr, and see what the Firmware is displaying on models they have on display...see if they are showing a number or the computer name.
