I have an iMac with OS X Lion bought 2 years ago. I want to know how to copy multiple pics from my camera sd card to my external hard drive. On my PC I would just use the "shift" key and it would automatically copy them all. With the Mac I have to physically click on each pic.

Hello and THANKS! Copying ALL the pics works doing the Command+A, but if I want to do a group of pics the Shift key does NOT work the same way as my PC. On the PC I can click on the first one in the group and the last one in the group, then the Shift key. All the pics in-between will be highlighted. Then I can right click to copy or move to the external hard drive. I have had soooo much trouble making the transition from a PC to a Mac........it is frustrating. And one of my hard drives is older and I don't think it is formatted right so I can only view the pics on it---not copy or change it in any way........
If you want to copy all of the files to your Mac type Command+A to select all and then drag. To drag a group hold down the Shift key and drag the cursor over the files you want to select and then drag.
I am having this same problem. I am trying to transfer multiple pics from my SD card onto an external hard drive (air capsule). Holding shift while I click on the first and last photo is not selecting all the photos in between. I also tried **** + Command and click on first and last photo, but this did not work either. Anyone have an answer on how to make this easier, instead of clicking on over 300 photos at a single time.
Instead of shift, use the command key together with the shift key when you click to select each file in the Finder. If you have a Windows keyboard, use the Windows icon key instead command key.
On a Mac hold down the shift key and click on the first image file then the last in the list and all in between will be selected. On Macs we hold the the shift key at the beginning of the process.
