Do the new 2014 MBPs support DisplayPort 1.2 MST?

Hi all,

Do the recently released 2014 MacBook Pros support DisplayPort 1.2 MST for daisy chaining (e.g. daisy chaining two Dell U2713H monitors)?

Thanks.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

There should be no difference in hardware or software between the late 2013 models and the "new" 2014 models except a slight speed bump to the processors. Granted I do not have one of the new models "in hand" but I have spoken to several Apple specialist who have said the only difference is with the processor, (And again it's a small one at that.)

i Apologize if I was no help, I just thought I'd chime in and give my 2 cents though. 😉

I think that the same would apply, though. I had that in the wrong bookmarks folder.

If I were you, I would call Apple for a pre-sales question and then let us know what they're saying now. I THOUGHT the the Late 2013-mid-2014 did have DisplayPort 1.2 MST capabilities, but, even Googling, I couldn't find a conclusive answer.

Sorry,

The simple answer to this question is NO. I just tried this today and the second monitor connected through the daisy chain is not recognized by the mac. The result is that the display is mirrored to the second monitor. I have read all of the articles related to Apple support for MST and multiple monitors. It should be capable but it does not work. I enabled DP 1.2 on the monitors, I have checked for software updates for both the Mac and the monitors and there are none.

Macbook Pro Late 2013 (Thunderbolt 2 with DP 1.2 support)

2x Dell U2414Hb (DP 1.2 enabled)

Do the new 2014 MBPs support DisplayPort 1.2 MST?
