Not able to connect to WiFi 802.1

I have an iPhone 4s, recently updated to 7.1.2.

My office has WiFi connectivity but I am not able to connect.

I tried connecting through WPA/WPA2/WPA enterprise/WPA2 enterprise, it connects after sometime but doesn't work after that. No internet connectivity at all.

Though my small android phone connects easily, which connects through 802.1, but iPhone doesn't show any such option.

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.1.2

Hi Karan_4n,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you iPhone is able to connect to the Wi-Fi network, but is unable to stay connected like other devices. The article linked below provides tips that may resolve the issue.

iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

Wi-Fi disconnects or signal strength is less than expected

  1. Move closer to the Wi-Fi router (access point).
  2. Check for sources of potential interference.
  3. Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if signal strength improves.
  4. Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including
    • previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    • recently used Bluetooth accessories
    • VPN and APN settings

I hope this helps.

Talk to IT/Tech Support about what type of encryption is being used.

I take it the network is hidden, so you're manually specifying the key to enter.

Also, 802.1 is an umbrella of standards, (you've told us the mechanics equivalent of one's car is making a funny sound)

We need more information to help as to what is having issues.

Your android should tell you what kind of encryption is being used (so will Macs and PC's) so look around and ask.

Thanks Jason, I had already tried all of that.

The problem is not that it loses network coverage or disconnects frequently or so.

The problem is that it connects easily, stays connected but doesn't work. I mean I am not able to connect to internet, unlike my other mobile devices which I connect through wifi 802.

Thanks Chattphotos,

I am attaching 2 screenshots, one of my iPhone and other of an android phone.(precisely Moto G)

While connecting itself, the android phone would give an option whether to connect through WPA, WEP or 802.

but there is no option on iPhone.
