Wireless connection issues with Asus ac68u

I have a MacBook pro with os 10.9.4 and I my wireless connection drops out constantly with my new ac68u asus router.

On both 2.4 and 5ghz. This never happened with the ac66r.

I tried the stock firmware out of the box, and dd-wrt and still the same thing on this router.

Is there anything I can do?

Ethernet is fine, and so are my Intel clients.

Try applying the 10.9.4 Combo Update in Safe Mode (Shift at the startup chime--needs much longer to boot)

I had the update, but did the update in safe mode anyway, I still have the issues.

I think it has something to do with the router rt-ac68u and asus has to work it out.

I will return the router and use the rt-ac66r that has been working fine.
