How do I change an app label on my homescreen?

I Saved a web page to my homescreen. I would like to change the label to make it easier to recognize. I know how to change the label on a folder, but I don't know how to change the label on an item that is on my homescreen.

is this possible?

thanks,

Pete D.

If you want to do this with a site that you have already bookmarked and added to the home screen, tap on the icon to launch the page or navigate to that page again. Tap the share icon and then tap Add to Home Screen. When the little window pops up, tap in the first text field to enter the insertion point. Tap the X at the end to delete the text and type your own, short label. It will only show a few letters, so make it something that you can easily recognize.

When you are done adding the new site, you will probably want to delete the old one which will still be on the desktop under it's original label. When you are adding a new shortcut to the desktop, you can simply change the label before you tap Add - and you will not have to delete the original shortcut.
