software required to play Blu ray dvd on external dvd burner (blu ray)

I have an iMac27 and a Pioneer BDR-XD05W BLU RAY DVD BURNER. Right now cannot play blu ray dvd on it as i get error: " Cannot Open" using Quick Time Player or :" there was a problem opening the media. The media type is not supported" using DVD PLAYER. Please help .. willROXIO TOAST 11 let play my Blu Ray dvd movies on my iMac and do I have to do anything specail..
