Q: I'm scanning and saving photos. Suddenly I get this message saying "Failed to save the File" with a yellow caution icon. Is it a scanner issue or computer?

I was scanning images on a Canon Pixma multi function scanner and after ten or so saves, this message started appearing. I can't find any info and don't have a clue about how to go about figuring out whether the problem is with the scanner or the iMac! [Mac OSX 10.6.8, ]

How much free space do you have on the hard drive? Where are you trying to save to? Did you try rebooting and having another go at it?

Restart your Mac and the scanner then try scanning.

By the way, there's an alternative to using the Canon scanner software.

Use the pre installed Image Capture app in your Applications folder instead > Mac Basics: Using a scanner
