Very frustrated with Apple and Mavericks

I am very frustrated with Apple right now and this new Mavericks. I uploaded it on my iMac and at first iPhoto wouldn't work (even after I updated it). After being on the phone with a Tech things got worse. Now I can't get to Mail or surf the internet using Google Chrome. It runs slow. Finders keeps hanging up, I have to constantly re launch. Fortunately I have a PC as a backup computer now but the Mac is our main computer. I can't believe Apple would launch an OS with all these problems. Now I have to take the computer to an Apple store which is 30 miles away. Very Very Very unhappy with Apple !

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)

If you have iPhoto 9.5.1 installed do the following:

1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window.

2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

As for your Mac running slow have you run any cleaning apps like MacKeeper or CleanMyMac or installed any anti virus software? Download and run Etrecheck. Copy and paste the results into your next post. It's a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here in the ASC.

1 - this is not a RANT forum. Nor is it a path to Apple. It is strictly a user to user support forum where experienced users help other users with specific software.

2 - you posted in the iPhoto for Mac forum. what specific issues are you having with iPhoto for the Mac? You can get help with that here. Support for Mail is in the mail forum. Support for Mavericks in general is in the Mavericks forum. Support for Chrome is in Goole support forums not Apple forums

3 - for better, more accurate support post details including version of iPhoto, error messages, exact symptoms, etc.
